As we’ve said elsewhere the club has grabbed its very own slice of Olympic Legacy with our monthly sessions on the Lee Valley Velodrome. There’s been a lot of speculation (and moaning) about corporate money and grass roots losing out but with a bit of work from the club’s backroom boys, here’s exactly what was intended when the Olympic flame was carried to the capital – a local grass roots club on a world class facility.
We have around 30 riders signed up to these sessions and so far it’s looking like one of the club’s most successful initiatives for some time. We hit the boards starting in April, Track Dates. The group is a mix of young and old, both sexes, some very experienced trackies and some completely new to any sort of track. They should all benefit enormously and I’m hoping we’ll see some good track riders emerge from their ranks.
