Venue HQ –  Potters Bar Cricket Club. The Walk, Potters Bar EN6 1QE

Setting off from Potters Bar Cricket Club which is close to the M25 and Potters Bar Station our Annual Reliability Ride is a 100km loop out into the Hertfordshire countryside.

The route is rolling on mainly quiet lanes with a finish through the hills that are locally known as ‘Little Switzerland’. If you fancy a shorter route there is a 51km option that shares the first 15 miles of the Long route and includes the hilly finish.

The roads may well be wet, possibly muddy and icy at this time of year and the weather won’t be warm, please dress accordingly and come prepared with a couple of spare inner tubes. Mudguards are definitely a good idea for both yourself and following riders.

The route is not signed . GPX files for GPS Devices are available to download from the links below.

There will be refreshments (tea and cakes) at the start and finish.

Medical Cover and Insurance

It is not practical for the Event organisers to provide medical assistance spanning the area of the event (30 miles North/South, 20 miles East/West).  Riders are advised that there is no medical provision on the course and that they should deal directly with the emergency services (dial 999) as any incident should require.  We will offer basic first aid at the HQ for anyone who may need attention on completion of the event for minor injuries.

The event is being run by Finsbury Park CC which is affiliated to British Cycling. This provides Organisers’ Liability insurance however we expect all riders to have their own third party liability insurance. This is intended to cover you should you ever be adjudged to have caused an accident which led to injury or damage to another cyclist, anyone else or their property. The main cycling organisations (eg. British Cycling, Cycling UK and BMRC) can all provide this as part of their membership benefits.
