Report from Peter Douglas
The senior race at Ipswich was a blinder with Benny Louis out front fighting for the win with Matthew Webber, Ross Tricker and Jack Finch, dicing with each other for the full hour with no one able to get a decisive gap until the last lap when Ross Tricker crossed the line, for gold, just in front of Ben who had to settle for silver. In the 40-49 vets, Konrad Manning was 17th and Graham Freer 19th another pair of good rides. The 50plus vets, mixed in with the juniors and women, was another good race and I finished 53rd. A really good day out on an excellent course.
In the Welsh Championships Philip Murrell finished 12th; so a good weekend for riders connected to the ‘Park’. This week we are at a revised course in Croydon and Bobby Douglas should be back in action. Next big event is the Nationals in Derby in January.
