On the weekend of the 16/17th August 2003, FPCC crossed the Channel yet again to pack in the randonee miles on the friendly roads of France. This time it was a new destination for the club – the town of Cucq near to Le Touquet.
Though it’s been in existence for a number of years now, this is a fairly low key event run by the local club the Association Sportif de Cucq. The organiser were delighted that we’d travelled so far to participate in their event and we were treated as visiting VIPs
A number of the roads were familiar to some of us from other randonees in the area and it was interesting to approach climbs and descents from fresh directions. A choice of three distances put together in three interlocking circuits provided something for everyone distance-wise and the name said it all: The Opale Coast has plenty of climbing and this one did them all!
